The Dusky Green Oropendola is a medium-sized bird that belongs to the Icteridae family. It is mostly olive-green in color with a dark eye and a pale bill. It is smaller than the Russet-backed Oropendola and has a darker olive head. It weaves hanging nests in small colonies and is commonly found around forest edges and flying above the canopy. The bird’s song is a varied combination of liquid whistles and pops, and it has a loud “chak” call. You can observe this species during our tours in the Manu National Park.
